Client X is launching a new generic product into the UK market, they were looking for data to assess market potential, support their forecasting and feed into the commercial strategy. Our Customer Success Manager and Data Team worked closely with the Client’s Portfolio Manager and Commercial Manager to ensure we provided the right data for their project needs.
WaveData’s final package of reports included prescription data for a group of products for the last 24 months. The report included all generic and branded generic products specified by the Client. This report gathered all GP prescriptions and helped our client understand the Primary Care demand, we also showed quarterly demand to help gauge seasonality. The data was mapped geographically to highlight any regional variances which will be fed into sales targeting.
The next piece of the puzzle was the ten year pricing trends for the competitor generic and branded generic products. This report enabled our Client to understand the price stability or volatility, and also identify any pricing trends or cycles. This has proved very useful for long term forecasting and planning, and highlights trigger points which may be a catalyst for a repeat in the cycle. We have provided the maximum, minimum, average and reimbursement prices for the period which will support margin forecasting.
We have also provided comprehensive data on what is happening in the market right now. We showed the current market price paid by Pharmacists and Dispensing Doctors for the generic and branded generic products our client will be competing against. This data will prove invaluable to the Commercial Team as they develop a pricing strategy.
Lastly, we have presented a list of all suppliers currently offering the competitor products and their advertised prices. This is being fed into the Sales Team to support the sales strategy and negotiations within the distribution channel. Below is the report summary which is supplied to the Client alongside the raw data in their preferred format.
