Branded Ezetrol first appeared on price lists sent to pharmacists and dispensing doctors in the UK in June 2004, accompanied in the same month by the first evidence of parallel imports. However, the number of price list offers for the parallel import has never topped 18, and has instead averaged about 5. In April 2018 generic Ezetimibe was launched, growing to a peak of 113 offers in price lists sent to pharmacists and dispensing doctors in September 2020. Since then this number has declined somewhat and today averages about 70 each month. Pack prices prior to loss of exclusivity were above £30.00, whereas generic prices today are closer to £10.00.
